Our mission is to collect all the needed information about the accessibility of tourist places and urban infrastructures.

Ramps & sidewalks: We collect data about urban accessibility, such as the points with ramps, the width of sidewalks, pedestrian streets and crossings. Our map gives the safest or the shortest route to reach an accessible point of touristic interest.

Hotels & sights: We follow a multi-criteria analysis based on Design for All to evaluate and certify the accessibility of the hotels, beaches, museums and shops

Parking & transport: We inform about disabled parking places, taxi spots, public and private transport, ports, aeroports and buses.

The object of this project is to support and enhance tourism carried out by socially vulnerable groups, such as citizens and visitors with disabilities, people with reduced mobility and people with reduced vision.

The UN Convention on the rights of people with disabilities explicitly states that access to tourism is a right guaranteed by the coordinated state. In addition, according to data from the European Disability Forum, there are around 50 million people with some form of disability in Europe. Taking into account at the same time that the population over the age of 65 is rapidly growing as well as the fact that people with disabilities rarely travel alone (travel with drivers, escorts, family and friends), this market is almost tripling. The aim of the project is the mapping of accessible infrastructure and information on benefits that enhance accessible tourism in the country.

The project is expected to make a significant contribution to serving European strategies for both infrastructure development and service delivery, in line with the principles of e-government. At the same time, it strengthens the social face of the Ministry, providing a set of digital services to vulnerable social groups of citizens and visitors in the country.

Through this, we seek the utilization of information and communication technology, the strengthening of the services provided to the citizen and the visitor, the promotion of accessible tourism in Greece, the promotion of the independent movement of the disabled, the strengthening of the role of people with disabilities in society, with the parallel development of a mutual communication network with the Public Administration.
